Ancient Mediterranean

The Ancient Mediterranean holdings at the Menil Collection number more than 600 objects and span 20,000 years of artistic achievement, from the Upper Paleolithic era (ca. 10,000 BCE or earlier) to the end of the Roman Empire (4th century CE). The rotating displays highlight ancient visual cultures from the islands of the Mediterranean Sea and surrounding regions of Europe, North Africa, and western Asia.
