Immendorff

What role does art play in politics – and the artist in society? Hardly any other artist has addressed these questions as consistently as Jörg Immendorff (1945–2007). With the first comprehensive retrospective in Immendorff’s adopted hometown of Düsseldorf, where he studied, taught and worked for decades, the Kunstpalast is bringing him back into the spotlight. Around 120 works spanning five decades trace his journey from his early days at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf.
