Michal Rovner: Untitled/Night, 2016

A video-still print of a jackal, from Michal Rovner’s series Night, peers from the Gardner’s Anne H. Fitzpatrick Façade. Recalling Anubis, protector of souls, the guardian-like creature watches over tiny figures moving through its gaze, turning our eyes to the timeless human universality of belonging and otherness, fear and perseverance.
