Rococo: Beyond Decadence

The Rococo is often associated with ornamentation, mythological fantasy, and pastoral escapism. But 18th-century European art involved far more than garden parties. Rococo: Beyond Decadence assembles 200 paintings, sculptures, decorative arts, costumes, textiles, and works on paper to reveal how Rococo art shaped the aspirations of a broad cross-section of society on the eve of dramatic social, cultural, and political change.
